The client

Exeter College has been working with The Graphic Design House since early 2021 to build and design a communications and fundraising campaign to support the £11.3m Library restoration project.

The Task

After a kick-off meeting, we spent significant time learning about the College – who Exeter are, what their identity is, and what needed to be achieved from the campaign. From there a direct mail pack was created to launch the library fundraising to the alumni, which produced outstanding results. This first DM raised nearly £250,000 and achieved a 3.2% response rate, far exceeding the colleges expectations! At the same time a microsite was launched, and was designed to match and supplement the broader design work of the campaign.

What we delivered

Alongside the direct mail campaign and microsite, we worked with the college to produce a document to be used during conversations with major donors. The brochure is sympathetic to the broader design but more refined, with a focus on excellent photography and beautiful embellishment.
