What are cookies?

A cookie is a piece of information in the form of a very small text file that is placed on an internet user’s computer. It’s generated by a website server and can be used by that server whenever the user visits the website. Thought of as an internet user’s identification card, a cookie tells a web site when the user has returned.

Cookies can’t harm your computer and we (The Graphic Design House) do not store any personally identifiable information about you on any of our cookies.

Why do we use cookies?

Our website uses cookies for two main reasons. First, we use them to enable us to provide you with a better experience i.e. to remember when you’ve logged in, and to remember not to show you a message you’ve already seen, for example (the cookie message at the top of the page when you first visit our website). Due to this, turning your cookies off in through your browser settings for our website may affect your experience negatively. The other use is for us to see how you use our website. Using this information we can see which pages you visit most often, which pages might be broken and various other bits of information. These cookies are generally described as necessary which enable you to get the best experience from our website.

Functional cookies allow us to provide you with greater functionality from our website, such as personalised features like remembering your name and email in contact forms so you don’t need to re-enter it. Analytical cookies track the performance of our website, we use them to monitor the analytics of our website in order for us to tailor our website to the needs of our users.
